CHENNAI: Veltech Dr RR & Dr SR University, Chennai, has entered into collaborations with seven universities in Taiwan -- National Formosa University (NFU), National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), National Yunlin, University of Science and Technology (NYUST), Asia University, Yuan Ze University, National Kaohsiung Normal University (NKNU) and National Chung Cheng University (NCCU) -- for various academic and research collaborations.
The MoUs were exchanged during the inauguration of the seventh Taiwan Higher Education Exposition organised by the Government of Taiwan in Chennai this week.
The MoUs were exchanged by Veltech president R Rangarajan and the representatives from the Taiwan universities in the presence of Taiwan political deputy education minister Yao Leehter.
Veltech has already entered into agreements with eight universities in Taiwan for academic and research collaborations. As a part of this expo, delegations representing 15 high ranked Institutes from Taiwan were visiting Veltech University.
Students from Veltech are being selected by Taiwan universities for their research project works and research internships with full or partial funding support. During the current academic year, four candidates from Veltech were selected for their higher studies with scholarship from the Taiwan government. The scholarship covers tuition fee and a stipend of Rs 43,000 per month. More than 50 students from Veltech are presently in Taiwan universities and industries.
