FEIB Unveils Its 2026 Calendar “Traveling Around Taiwan by Train” — Continuing Its Commitment to Low-Carbon Tourism and Sustainability

Far Eastern International Bank (FEIB) today (November 26) released its 2026 themed calendar, “Traveling Around Taiwan by Train,” marking the third installment in the Bank’s ongoing low-carbon tourism series, following previous focuses on dedicated bicycle routes and sustainable travel destinations. The launch event took place at the concierge room of the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) at Taipei Nangang Station. On the same day, FEIB was honored with six accolades at the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards, including the prestigious “Top 100 Sustainable Enterprises” recognition.

FEIB President Thomas Chou expressed his delight at the achievement, remarking, “Sustainability is the track to a better New Year.” Through this year’s train-travel theme, FEIB invites customers to embrace the new year by embarking on green, low-carbon journeys and rediscovering the beauty of Taiwan’s landscapes and history.

The unveiling of the “Traveling Around Taiwan by Train” calendar was joined by President Chou (Photo Above: Second from the Left: FEIB) alongside three FEIB employees who commute daily by train: Lee Mei-chen from Personal Finance, Shen Hui-hsuan from Corporate Finance, and Pan Yen-liang from Information Technology. The calendar highlights the richness and diversity of Taiwan’s railway culture and scenic routes. Featured locations include:

•  The Changhua Fan-Shaped Depot, an iconic landmark reflecting a century of Taiwan’s railway heritage;
•  The Alishan Forest Railway, internationally acclaimed as one of the world’s great mountain train journeys;
•  The Pingxi Branch Line, once a bustling mining railway and now a beloved leisure travel route;
•  Linfengying Station, where visitors can revisit Taiwan’s agricultural past;
•  The creatively developed cruise-style sightseeing trains offering a new travel experience;
•  The nostalgic Tiansongpi Station, where riders can enjoy the charm of historic narrow-gauge trains;
•  And the National Railway Museum, adding depth to the educational and cultural values of the calendar.

Together, these locations present a vibrant and comprehensive portrait of traveling Taiwan by rail.

President Chou also addressed why FEIB continues to produce physical calendars in an era defined by artificial intelligence and digital tools. He noted that maintaining printed calendars is itself an ESG practice, serving the needs of senior citizens and business partners, while desk calendars remain among the few tangible stationery items still valued by younger generations. This allows users to continue enjoying the warmth of paper and the hopes symbolized by a new year’s blessings.

Furthermore, FEIB has incorporated into each monthly spread a feature titled “Green Transportation Everyday,” presenting twelve simple, actionable steps that support sustainable living. These include low-carbon logistics initiatives—such as backing the use of green electricity in warehouses and distribution centers—and promoting shared mobility combined with public transportation to achieve greener daily commuting.

Chou emphasized that FEIB remains committed to partnering with customers and employees to practice sustainability, cultivate greener lifestyles, and collectively enjoy a better Taiwan.
