U-Ming is actively advancing the green transformation of its fleet. All vessels are coated with the latest energy-efficient and environmentally friendly paints to effectively reduce hull resistance and fuel consumption. In addition, the company adopts eco-speed operations during voyages to further reduce carbon emissions. In 2025, U-Ming’s VLOC” Grand Pioneer” was equipped with Anemoi rotor sails, making U-Ming the first Taiwanese shipping company to adopt this technology. The installation is expected to save approximately 1,600 tons of fuel annually and reduce carbon emissions by about 10–12%, marking an important milestone in the company’s fleet decarbonization efforts. U-Ming is actively adopting low-carbon fuels. The company has introduced four LNG dual-fuel bulk carriers since 2022, gradually increasing LNG usage, and has also bunkered B24 biofuel on one of its owned vessels for the first time in 2025. B24 biofuel is expected to reduce well-to-wake lifecycle emissions by around 20% compared with conventional marine fuel, representing a significant step forward in U-Ming’s adoption of diversified low-carbon fuel solutions.

To achieve 2050 net zero emissions, U-Ming aligned with the “International Maritime Organization (IMO)” and national carbon reduction targets, declaring its “2050 Net Zero Roadmap”. Also, U-Ming published “Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) Independent Report”. The report, following TCFD guidelines, discloses U-Ming’s management and execution of four key areas: climate governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets. U-Ming assess the company’s climate transition risks and future decarbonization pathways in accordance with the TCFD report.

The 'Top 100 Carbon Competitiveness' ranking is organized by Business Weekly in collaboration with the Industry Climate Risk Research Team at National Taiwan University’s Risk Center. It is the only indicator that combines carbon performance with business results. U-Ming has been selected for the 'Top 100 Carbon Competitiveness' for two consecutive years, demonstrating strong carbon competitiveness alongside solid business performance. Going forward, U-Ming will continue to advance its net-zero transition based on existing policies, actively exploring the development of vessel decarbonization technologies and continuously updating its net-zero strategy to achieve the 2050 net-zero carbon emissions target.
