FENC Invited to CYBERSEC 2026 Listed Companies Cybersecurity Benchmark Forum: Strengthening BEC Resilience Through Dual Engines of AI and Risk Management

FENC Invited to CYBERSEC 2026 Listed Companies Cybersecurity Benchmark Forum: Strengthening BEC Resilience Through Dual Engines of AI and Risk Management

Asia’s premier cybersecurity event, CYBERSEC 2026 Taiwan, was held from May 5 to May 7, bringing together over 20,000 professionals worldwide as a key platform for business leaders and cybersecurity experts to exchange insights and explore emerging trends. Gilbert Yi, Chief Information Security Officer of Far Eastern New Century (FENC), was invited to speak at the 「Listed Companies Cybersecurity Benchmark Forum」, where he delivered a presentation titled “The Familiar Stranger: Managing Cross-Border BEC and AI Survival Strategies for Public Companies.”

During the session, he shared how enterprises can leverage AI-driven capabilities to elevate risk management and supply chain governance, enhancing resilience against Business Email Compromise (BEC) threats amid the rapid advancement of AI technologies.

Viewing BEC Through an Enterprise Risk Governance Perspective

Humphrey Cheng, President of FENC Corporate Management, has long led the development and optimization of enterprise risk management practices, with a strong emphasis on integrating cybersecurity thinking into day-to-day business operations and decision-making. Within this framework, BEC prevention has become a critical focus area.

Unlike conventional cyberattacks that rely primarily on technical intrusion, BEC exploits fabricated business scenarios to influence employee judgment and business workflows, leading victims to unknowingly execute critical actions within legitimate processes. As a result, BEC extends beyond cybersecurity concerns into broader management domains, including internal controls, cross-functional collaboration, and trust verification mechanisms.

Strengthening Supply Chain Governance Through the Enterprise BEC “Golden Triangle”

As a multinational enterprise operating across six time zones and five languages, FENC faces increasingly complex cross-border business environments. To address these challenges, the company continues to enhance transaction verification and third-party management mechanisms while introducing its 「Enterprise BEC Golden Triangle Protection Framework」, connecting enterprises, customers, and suppliers through an integrated protection model.

For customers, FENC has established anti-fraud declaration mechanisms and out-of-band (OOB) verification channels to ensure transaction authenticity. For suppliers, the company has implemented OOB verification and multi-party confirmation procedures for account change requests to reduce risks associated with high-risk transactions.

Building Enterprise AI Immunity Through Intelligent Risk Management

To enhance overall cybersecurity and operational effectiveness, FENC has actively adopted AI technologies in recent years. Its self-developed AI Agents have been applied across areas including abnormal behavior analysis, supply chain risk monitoring, and semantic analysis, improving threat detection efficiency and accelerating response capabilities. These initiatives are gradually shaping an enterprise AI immune system with proactive identification and real-time response capabilities.

Meanwhile, FENC continues aligning with regulatory requirements and the Cybersecurity Governance Guidelines for Listed Companies, further refining supply chain management, internal controls, and incident response procedures to strengthen governance maturity and cybersecurity resilience.

Building Sustainable Protection Through Resilient Governance

In response to CYBERSEC 2026’s theme, “Resilient Future,” FENC emphasized that addressing AI-era threats requires more than technology tools alone. Long-term protection depends on the integration of governance frameworks, internal processes, and employee awareness.

Moving forward, FENC will continue advancing AI and risk management in parallel, deepening enterprise governance capabilities and enhancing operational stability and adaptive resilience in an increasingly digital environment.
