ACC 7th Life Inspiration Film Festival: Using Cinema to Help Children Understand Life and Differences

The "Life Inspiration Film Festival," a collaborative effort between Asia Cement Corporation (ACC) and the "Spores Network" documentary team, has entered its seventh year. The campus tour screenings officially launched this month, aiming to accompany children in exploring the diverse facets of life through documentary screenings and post-viewing discussions, while teaching them to respect differences and understand others. This year’s film festival has selected five elementary schools in the Hualien region for screenings, including Xincheng, Jiamin, Fuxing, Fushi, and Xiulin Elementary Schools. Faculty and students were invited to watch the Public Television Service (PTS) documentary, Welcome to My Ranch: Chiayi Xingang Frog Farm. Told from a child’s perspective, the film leads the audience into the daily life of a Taiwanese ranch, showcasing how children growing up in such environments develop an understanding of nature and a profound respect for life through their interactions with the land and animals.

Participating students shared that these visual stories not only taught them basic scientific knowledge about animals but also allowed them to see peers sharing their experiences and insights on raising animals, demonstrating a sincere love for nature. For the schools, this is more than just a screening event; it is a life education lesson centered on companionship, responsibility, and the connection between living beings.

"Film is not just for watching; it is a seed." Asia Cement Corporation continues to host the Life Inspiration Film Festival in the hope that these authentic and heartwarming stories will take root in children’s hearts, helping them build a deeper understanding of life, the environment, and the world as they grow.
