TPKC and TPKD buildings achieved diamond-level green building certification from EEWH
Following the TPKD R&D office building was awarded LEED gold certification by the US Green Building Council, the TPKC (FET Cloud Computing Center) and the TPKD building have achieved diamond-grade certification from EEWH (Taiwan's official sustainable-architecture rating system, akin to LEED in the US). In response to sustainable development with the consciousness of energy saving and environmental conservation in recent years, Tpark is committed to the promotion of green building, using the most energy-saving and the minimum waste methods to construct office buildings in the park. The EEWH green building labeling system in Taiwan comprises nine evaluation indicators: biodiversity, greenery, water content of the site, daily energy conservation, CO2 emission reduction, construction waste reduction, indoor environment, water conservation, and sewage and waste disposal facility improvement.
Among these indicators, TPKC & TPKD project has outstanding performance in greenery, daily energy conservation, and water conservation. Inevitably, the project has won the diamond grade of the highest grade green building with a high standard of full marks.
- Greenery: greenery is the best way to absorbing CO2 and slows down the global warming situation. Besides planting a variety of trees, shrubs and flowers are also used to form a rich biological chain.
- Daily Energy Conservation (lighting): to save energy, TPKC & TPKD avoid using lamps such as tungsten filament lamps, halogen lamps, mercury lamps, etc., and by using the automatic lighting system, the device would adjust lighting to reduce waste.
- Water Conservation: The buildings adopt efficient water-saving equipment and the water-saving efficiency reaches 41.47%. In addition, tap water would be recycled for plant irrigation and condensed water for flushing.
We believe that Tpark can contribute to the quality green buildings in Taiwan and create a better green life for society, with the joint efforts from architects to professional technicians, from government departments to private enterprises.
The green building of Taiwan can be redefined as a building with Ecology, Energy Saving, Waste Reduction, as well as Health.
Four Categories and Nine Indicators of EEWH: Ecology, Energy Saving, Waste Reduction, Health
- Ecology: Biodiversity, Greenery, Water content of the site
- Energy Saving: Daily Energy Conservation
- Waste Reduction: CO₂Emission Reduction, Construction Waste Reduction
- Health: Indoor Environment, Water Conservation, Sewage and Waste Disposal Facility Improvement
The current nine-indicator green building evaluation has been finalized since 2003. Originally, the system comprised seven evaluation indicators; however, two indicators were introduced in the system, including biodiversity and indoor environment quality.
