FET Secures CDP Supplier Engagement "A List" for 6th Consecutive Year, Remaining Taiwan’s Sole Telecom Leader

Global environmental non-profit CDP has released its latest Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA) results. Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) stood out among over 22,000 companies worldwide to retain the highest honor on the Leadership "A List." FET is the only telecom operator in Taiwan to secure an "A" rating for six consecutive years, placing it among the top 10% of evaluated enterprises globally. Addressing Climate Challenges Through Value Chain Resilience FET President Chee Ching noted that recent record-breaking heatwaves in Europe underscore how extreme weather has shifted from an environmental issue to a critical operational challenge. Facing the net-zero transition, enterprises must reduce operational emissions while empowering supply chain partners to enhance decarbonization capabilities and operational resilience.

"Receiving CDP’s top 'A List' rating for Supplier Engagement for six consecutive years demonstrates international recognition of our supply chain sustainability governance," Ching stated. "It highlights FET's long-term commitment to extending climate action across our entire value chain. We will continue leveraging digital technologies and sustainable management mechanisms to build a resilient, low-carbon, and competitive ecosystem alongside our suppliers."

Adopting Global Standards to Elevate Carbon Transparency To accelerate net-zero supply chain transformation, FET deepened its carbon governance mechanisms by adopting the WBCSD "Pathfinder V2" guidelines. FET encourages suppliers to provide primary carbon data based on actual measurements rather than traditional estimations, enhancing carbon accounting transparency. In FET's 2025 supply chain carbon inventory, 52% of emission data was sourced directly from supplier-provided primary data, establishing a highly credible baseline for carbon reduction strategy formulation.

AI-Powered Governance and Risk Management Beyond emissions management, FET continues to strengthen risk governance. Through its proprietary "Sustainable Due Diligence Digital Dashboard," FET monitors supply chain risks in real time. In 2025, FET completed sustainable due diligence evaluations for 494 suppliers, covering 92.5% of total procurement spend. Additionally, FET plans to integrate AI-driven smart analytics to automatically analyze supplier ESG questionnaires, government penalty records, and external risk data.

FET also applies a comprehensive "QCDDSS" evaluation framework—covering Quality, Cost, Delivery, Development, Service, and Sustainability—to assess supplier performance and provide targeted coaching. For three consecutive years, FET has hosted "Sustainable Governance Workshops," providing training, one-on-one consulting, and practical insights on carbon inventories, reduction strategies, and international disclosure trends.

Advancing Circular Economy and Global Sustainability Recognitions In line with IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards and SASB telecom metrics, FET established a robust Product End-of-Life Management framework to bolster recycling and resource reuse. In 2025, FET achieved a 90% circular economy recycling rate for industrial waste, meaning 9 out of every 10 kilograms of industrial waste were recycled or reused back into the circular system.

In addition to its CDP Supplier Engagement "A List" rating, FET also achieved the "A List" rating for CDP Climate Change. Furthermore, FET remains a constituent of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), ranking first globally in the Telecom sector on the DJSI World Index for three consecutive years and securing a perfect score in the "Supply Chain Management" category.
