FENC Wins Ministry of Economic Affairs' Best AI Award Consecutively, Driving Risk Governance and Intelligent Transformation via AIFE Strategy

The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) hosted the second annual Best AI Awards. This year’s competition expanded significantly, attracting 1,487 multinational corporations, industry leaders, and top-tier startups from 36 countries around the globe. Amid fierce competition, with international participation doubling since the inaugural event and a substantial increase in technical depth, 100 winners were ultimately selected from 253 shortlisted teams.

Far Eastern New Century (FENC) stood out with its self-developed "AIFE (AI For Everyone)" platform, earning an Honorable Mention in this year's Best AI Awards. This milestone marks the second consecutive year FENC has been recognized on this national stage, making it the only traditional manufacturing enterprise to achieve back-to-back wins in the award's history. This achievement underscores FENC’s forward-looking layout in global operations and digital governance.

Driving Corporate Risk Management: The AIFE Platform as a Strategic Core

This consecutive national AI accolade reflects FENC Corporate Managements' long-term, strategic AI layout aimed at driving corporate risk management and digital transformation. While FENC has already fully implemented data-driven intelligent transformations across its physics-centered global production, manufacturing, and process optimization fields, it is now venturing further into the "deep water zone" of administrative AI transformation. This phase focuses on human-centric processes, complex organizational behaviors, and professional knowledge inheritance.

Faced with challenges such as volatile global supply chain restructuring, a shortage of AI talent, and the need to balance reliance on external consultants, transforming the corporate management is inherently a core risk management initiative for the listed company. Under the long-standing leadership of Humphrey Cheng, President of the Corporate Management, FENC emphasizes that risk control in traditional manufacturing cannot remain passive. Instead, technological capabilities must be internalized, structuring the implicit experience of veteran frontline employees into corporate digital assets and translating them into the organization's collective intelligence.

To achieve this, the Corporate Management deployed and drove the independent R&D of the AIFE platform, positioning it as a core strategy for enhancing corporate health and fostering intelligent transformation. In this human-centric "deep water zone," the platform has rolled out real-world AI applications across seven core governance domains: accounting, finance, legal affairs, international affairs, human resources, secretarial services, and information security, integrating three major transformation and governance functionalities:

  • Guidance and Empowerment (Trinity AI Command Architecture): Utilizing a high-level command chain where Agentic AI commands Generative AI and dispatches Discriminative AI, the platform highly automates the core workflow from plain-language business queries to MLOps modeling. This lowers the technical barrier for frontline and administrative staff, enabling non-technical employees to autonomously execute intelligent decision-making.
  • Inheritance and Preservation (Mechanism for Assetizing Implicit Experience): By structuring the implicit experience of senior employees into digital assets, FENC transforms professional knowledge scattered across individual minds into company-wide organizational memory and a shared knowledge base. This enhances operational resilience when facing critical talent loss or generational experience gaps in multinational operations.
  • Proactive Compliance and Sovereignty Defense (Edge Computing and Real-Time Governance): By balancing cloud and on-premise computing power through quantization techniques and effective scenario selection, the AI hub runs smoothly on low-power edge devices on-site. This ensures that sensitive operational and management data remains secure and controllable, fortifying protection from the ground up and significantly reducing compliance risks and cybersecurity threats in global operations.

Proactive Compliance Governance: Aligning with the Artificial Intelligence Basic Act and Sharing Expertise at Asia's Premier Cybersecurity Summit

Regarding compliance risk control for multinational operations, the Corporate management has always emphasized the importance of "proactive governance". In a rapidly changing digital era, the AIFE platform embodies President Humphrey Cheng’s proactive risk lifecycle governance mindset, covering "pre-event, mid-event, and post-event" stages.

The AIFE platform deeply echoes the governance principles of "human autonomy" and "transparency" mandated by Taiwan's officially enacted Artificial Intelligence Basic Act. The platform features built-in proactive model drift monitoring and traceable authorization logging. When global production environments shift or data bias occurs, the system translates complex AI computations into plain language. Designed around a "Human-in-the-Loop" architecture, it allows employees to easily exercise final manual decision-making and retraining rights. This ensures transparency and safety across all stages of the AI lifecycle, building a robust defense line for proactive governance.

To further validate its cybersecurity and compliance frameworks, FENC was invited to participate in CYBERSEC 2026, Asia's largest cybersecurity event. Gilbert Yi, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of the Corporate Management’s Information Security Department, spoke at the "Cybersecurity Benchmark Forum for Listed Companies". He shared valuable insights with global cybersecurity experts on using AI and process governance to reinforce Business Email Compromise (BEC) defenses, thereby boosting the company’s internal "immunity" and cybersecurity resilience.

Converging Digital and Green Transformations: Optimizing Global Efficiency and Cost Control

Amid global economic shifts and supply chain disruptions triggered by geopolitics, the core strategy of the Corporate Management lies in deeply integrating "digital transformation" with "green transformation (ESG/sustainability compliance)". From its inception, the AIFE platform was designed with high energy efficiency and low-carbon computing as core indicators, ensuring that intelligent innovation thrives under agile, low-carbon parameters.

FENC’s global operational network consistently integrates machine learning and big data analysis into daily operations. By deeply blending and applying Generative AI, Discriminative AI, and Agentic AI internally, FENC continues to scale these solutions across its complex international operating environments, including Taiwan, Mainland China, Vietnam, Japan, the United States, Malaysia, and the Philippines. This outstanding achievement earned FENC a spot in Business Weekly’s inaugural "AI Innovation Top 100," setting a benchmark for traditional manufacturing industries navigating an era of uncertainty by leveraging AI to drive organizational resilience and proactively manage international supply chains and ESG compliance.

Winning an Honorable Mention in the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Best AI Award once again serves as the ultimate testament to FENC's long-term commitment to risk management, digital inclusion, and knowledge inheritance. Moving forward, FENC will continue to deepen the agentic collaboration capabilities of the AIFE platform, truly integrating AI into the daily workflows of every employee and cementing it as a robust, practical foundation for competitiveness against global supply chain challenges.
