Everest Textile ESM Volunteer Team Joins the Beach Cleanup in Tainan
In response to the global “International Coastal Cleanup (ICC)” and in support of protecting Taiwan’s marine environment, Everest Textile ESM Volunteer Team joined the “2025 Ocean Conservation Action — 2025 Endless Love for the Ocean — Journey Without Plastic” beach cleanup in Tainan on September 14, organized by the Society of Wilderness Tainan Branch. Through concrete action, the team demonstrated its commitment to marine conservation and showcased the company’s corporate sustainability responsibility. (Photo Credit: Everest Textile)
This year’s event embraced four key themes — fear, distance, rejection, and full stop — as a reminder of the close connection between the ocean and human life. Although most people in Taiwan live within 50 kilometers of the sea, the convenience of daily life often leads to neglect of the responsibility to protect it. By engaging in hands-on beach cleanup, participants not only removed waste but also recorded the types and quantities of trash collected, helping to identify pollution sources and reinforcing the realization that “waste originates from the land, from human behavior.” Only through collective action can the problem be effectively addressed.
On the day of the event, more than 20 members of the ESM Volunteer Team worked together along the coastline, picking up every piece of plastic waste and debris. In total, they collected around 200 kilograms of marine litter, including plastic bottles, caps, straws, fishing nets, and Styrofoam, restoring the beach to a cleaner and healthier state. The volunteers also supported the “Plastic-Free Traveler” initiative by bringing reusable items to reduce single-use waste during the journey. The atmosphere was filled with passion and smiles as volunteers lived out the spirit of “contributing to society and creating happiness,” sowing seeds of joy through meaningful action.
Everest Textile has long been dedicated to environmental sustainability, consistently promoting diverse social care and environmental initiatives through its volunteer teams. From local communities to natural ecosystems, the company actively practices its sustainability vision of “co-prosperity with society and co-existence with nature.” This beach cleanup was not only an act of protection in action but also a promise to employees, families, and society that “our love for the ocean has no end.”(Photo Credit: Everest Textile)
