FENC SSP Division Receives EN 15343 Certification, the First Company in Taiwan to Comply with EU Recycled Plastics Standard

Far Eastern New Century Corporation – Solid-State Polymerization Division (FENC SSP Division) has recently been awarded the certification issued by SGS in accordance with the European EN 15343:2007 standard, becoming the first company in Taiwan to obtain this certification. This achievement demonstrates FENC’s leading position and technical expertise in the development of sustainable materials and plastic circularity.

EN 15343:2007 is a critical European standard that defines requirements for the traceability of recycled plastic sources, verification of recycled content, and the overall quality and management systems involved in recycling processes. It serves not only as a bridge for accessing the European market but as a demonstration of ESG implementation and support for the circular economy.

In recognition of Far Eastern New Century’s dedication and achievements in sustainable development, Mr. Denny Huang, Vice President of SGS Taiwan Ltd., personally presented the certificate on July 10, 2025. The certificate was received on behalf of the company by Mr. Ching-Tsu Peng, Executive Vice President of Far Eastern New Century. SGS’s international certification body highly commended the company’s high-quality standards and traceability capabilities for its recycled plastic products.

The certified products include food-contact grade recycled PET (rPET) pellets, covering the entire process from post-consumer bottle selection, washing, and pelletizing to solid-state polymerization. The complete supply chain is managed in compliance with EN 15343 requirements, with a robust traceability system verified through a comprehensive audit and on-site inspection conducted by SGS under European standards. The audit confirmed the products’ 100% recycled plastic content and transparent sourcing.

Receiving the EN 15343 certification demonstrates FENC rPET products meet the stringent quality and traceability requirements for global markets. It also enables us to provide certified support for our European customers with plastic tax benefits, further enhancing our competitiveness and reinforcing our position as a trusted sustainability partner to international brands.

Looking ahead, FENC will continue to expand its global certification portfolio, pursue compliance with environmental standards across the EU, North America, and Asia-Pacific, and remain committed to innovation in circular material technology — contributing actively to global sustainability goals.
