Far Eastern Group (FEG) won five awards in Global Views Magazine (GVM) CSR and ESG Award this year, ranking first in the whole Taiwan conglomerates. Douglas Hsu, the parent of the group, attended the award ceremony in person on May 3 and received the award on behalf of Far Eastern New Century Corporation (FENC).

In responding to government policy of sport promotion, the Founder Y. Z. Hsu was inspired by a business sponsored Japanese Girls Vollyball Team who won the 1964 Olympic Gold and the whole country was enthusiastic about it. He then in 1965, established the first Girls' Basketball Team and named it "Ya Tung" after 2 sponsored companies: Asia Cement (Ya-Zhou Siu-Ni) and Far Eastern Textile (Yuan-Tung Fan-Zhi).
The Founder established the business in the midst of war, this makes FEG has the DNA to deal with the crisis. The fire in Banqiao textile plant in 1958, the first energy crisis in 1973, and the random fire burned to the headquarters building at Baoqing, Taipei in 1991...etc. These crises solidified relationship among employees and heightened the attention to crisis management. FEG has always risen to walk through the crises valley with progressively steadier steps toward higher peaks.
