ACC Included in S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for Third Consecutive Year, Demonstrating Excellence in Climate Governance

S&P Global recently announced the selection list for The Sustainability Yearbook 2026. The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook utilizes Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) scores as its selection criteria, aiming to recognize the top 15% of companies with the highest sustainability management performance in each industry. This year, 848 companies across 59 industries were selected. Within the global building materials sector, only 12 companies made the list. ACC’s third consecutive inclusion underscores its position as a global leader in sustainable governance.

Integrating Sustainability into Corporate DNA

Asia Cement noted that a key factor in its consistent selection is the elevation of sustainable governance to the Board of Directors level. By integrating sustainability into performance management systems for all employees, the company ensures that resource circulation and carbon reduction strategies are seamlessly embedded into daily operations.

In the latest assessment, ACC received a score of 84 in the "Climate Strategy" category, significantly outperforming the industry average. The company emphasized that its near-term 1.5°C targets were officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) last year, ensuring its decarbonization pathway aligns with international scientific standards.

Furthermore, ACC utilizes cement kiln co-processing technology as a core strategy for climate governance. This technology effectively transforms industrial waste into alternative raw materials and fuels, reducing reliance on natural resources and transforming cement plants from traditional manufacturing facilities into vital hubs for the circular economy.

Top Marks Across Multiple Indicators

Detailed scoring reveals ACC’s excellence across several dimensions:

Governance & Economic: Achieved perfect scores of 100 in transparency and reporting, climate governance framework, emission reduction targets, internal carbon pricing, and energy-saving efficiency of decarbonization projects.
Environmental: Received full marks for the control of NOx, SOx, and dust emissions.
Social: Earned perfect scores in customer relationship management, labor practice indicators, and human rights commitments.
A Solid Foundation for Net-Zero 2050

In addition to the recognition from S&P Global, Asia Cement recently received an "A" rating for Climate Change from CDP, the international environmental disclosure non-profit.

"Receiving consecutive certifications from authoritative international organizations demonstrates that Asia Cement has established a solid and systematic foundation for carbon reduction management," the company stated. "Moving forward, we will continue to deepen our low-carbon footprint and remain steadfast in our commitment to industrial transformation as we head toward our 2050 Net-Zero goal."
