70th Anniversary Philanthropy Roadmap

Officially founded in 1949, Far Eastern Textiles established itself as a leader of spinning and weaving, creating a symbiotic link with the heart of Taiwan’s economy.

The Far Eastern Group’s businesses all started with the polyester and synthetic fiber industry . As Taiwan’s economy grew and peoples’ quality of life began to improve, the Group started expanding its business to cement and construction, retail, sea and land transportation, petrochemical and energy, financial services, communications networks, and hotels. The Far Eastern Group’s products and services encompass everything from resources needed for national infrastructure to daily commodities. The various business groups have taken root and evolved in their professional fields, serving as an important force that propels national development.

The steady revenue brought in by diverse investments has created a never-ending stream for the Group to invest in public welfare. Other than contributing to public welfare by establishing education facilities, medical institutions, and foundations, the Group also encourages its employees to actively take part in charity events, which in turn raises public interest in philanthropy and elevates public participation in social welfare.
