Taiwanese operator Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) has selected Ericsson to offer Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity services globally to enterprises. Ericsson’s global IoT Connectivity Management, based on Device Connection Platform, and part of Ericsson’s IoT Accelerator platform, is expected to enable FET’s customers to deploy, manage and scale IoT connected devices and applications.
FET forecasts 3 million NB-IoT connected devices in Taiwan by end-2019. Access to Ericsson’s global cloud service will open up domestic and international IoT business opportunities for FET’s Enterprise IoT customers. FET started rolling out the NB-IoT network in November 2017. Under the platform-as-a-service deal, Ericsson is also providing a go-to-market program to help FET enable its enterprise sales, and launch and scale IoT services through Ericsson’s connectivity ecosystem.
