Robust economic growth in the 1980s in Taiwan created huge demand for architecture and construction. The Far Eastern Group officially entered the construction business in 1978, forming “Far Eastern Construction Co., Ltd.” in 1978 and “Far Eastern General Contractor Inc.” in 1982. In addition to various construction projects within the group, these companies also undertook many large scale public construction projects, including: Tainan Yanshuei River Bridge, E708-3 bidding project for East-West Northgate Yu-Gin Line, viaducts for the Bureau of Roads, Hsin-Chuang Baseball Stadium, Banqiao New Railway Station Underground Parking Lot, Taipei Binjiang Market, Hualian Minyi Public Housing Project, Kaohsiung Asia Plaza and the CR3 Section of Kaohsiung’s Rapid Transit system.
“Yuan Ding Construction Co., Ltd.” was incorporated in 1984. Taipei Metro Complex, which was planned and constructed by Yuan Ding set an example as the first hybrid development project. In addition to serving as the Group’s headquarters, the complex also houses the five-star Far Eastern Plaza Hotel. The company has been honored for its outstanding management and services by the government multiple times. In 2001, the company was restructured as “Yuan Ding Co., Ltd.” The company owns “Far Eastern Technical Consultants Co., Ltd.”, and “Yu Chime Co.”, which specialize in real estate management, construction development and design.
In 2003, the Group formed “Far Eastern Resources Development Corp.” to integrate its vast land assets, improving resource utilization efficiency and investment performance. This Company is currently developing projects such as “Far Eastern Telecom Park” and its Yilan Resort. The Far Eastern Group built a complete framework for its construction business with outstanding technology resource integration.
