|  Taiwan's economic prosperity during the 1980s stimulated a huge construction boom. Far Eastern Group formally entered the construction industry with the establishment of Far Eastern Construction Co., Ltd. in 1978, followed by the forming of Far Eastern General Contractor Inc. in 1982. Apart from handling the Group's own construction projects, these companies have participated in many large-scale public construction projects, including the Hsin Chuan Baseball Field, viaducts for the Bureau of Roads, Kaohsiung Asia Plaza, underground parking lot for Panchiao New Railway Station, Pinjiang Market in Taipei, and the ongoing Kaohsiung Metro Stations.
 Yuan Ding Construction Co., Ltd. established in 1984 was responsible for the planning and building of Taipei Metro complex,Taiwan's first hybrid development project. This twin tower consists of the Group¡¦s headquarters, the five-star Far Eastern Plaza Hotel and an exquisite city shopping mall. Superior management and service have won government awards and commendations on several occasions. Responding to business needs, Yuan Ding Construction was reorganized as Yuan Ding Co., Ltd. in 2001. The Group also founded, Far Eastern Technical Consultants Co., Ltd., and Yu Chime Co. to handle real estate management, building development, design¡Ketc.
The Group established Far Eastern Resource Development Co. in 2003 for the purpose of integrating its vast land assets and improving resource utilization efficiency and investment performance. This company is currently developing important projects such as "Far Eastern TelecomPark" and "Ilan Resort"
